What happens after my procedure?
You will be monitored for 1-2 hours. You can then go home. It is safe (and encouraged) to have sexual intercourse as soon as you are comfortable.
Symptoms you may notice:
You may feel groggy from the medicines used during the procedure to keep you comfortable. Headache and nausea may occur but usually do not last longer than 12-24 hours.
Most women will experience spotting for a few days after the procedure.
Some women may experience cramping for 24-48 hours after the procedure.
If the blockage returns (1 in 3 people), the procedure can be repeated.
When to call your clinician or 911?
You have a fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher
You have vaginal bleeding, requiring multiple pads or tampons every couple hours
You have uncontrollable or worsening pain
You become pale or feel faint or lightheaded
