What happens after my procedure?

You will be monitored for 1-2 hours. You can then go home. It is safe (and encouraged) to have sexual intercourse as soon as you are comfortable.

Symptoms you may notice:

  • You may feel groggy from the medicines used during the procedure to keep you comfortable. Headache and nausea may occur but usually do not last longer than 12-24 hours.

  • Most women will experience spotting for a few days after the procedure.

  • Some women may experience cramping for 24-48 hours after the procedure.

If the blockage returns (1 in 3 people), the procedure can be repeated.
